Irene came on Aliyah in 1972 with a B.A. from Leeds University and a teaching diploma. She taught English as a second language at junior high and Open University for over 20 years. On retiring she joined Esra and is secretary of the Herzlia Commitee. She also is the project co-ordinator for Nativ. She plays competition bridge, swims daily and rides her bicycle by the sea. Irene has 7 grandchildren.
